Leader’s Perception About The Ghanaian Youth And What They Desire Is In Life Is Far From Fetch- CPP National Youth Organizer writes.

Osei Kofi Acquah the National Youth organizer for the CPP writes….

I have always maintained that our leader’s perception about the Ghanaian Youth and what they desire is in life is far from fetch.

Government after government under the 4th Republic seems to have the believe that, what interest the Ghanaian youth is athletics, particularly Soccer, so they waste alot of money in this fruitless exercise.

About 85% of the budget that is allocated to the Ministry Of Youth and Sports Yearly goes into Sports, neglecting the other agencies under the ministry.

The National Youth Authority which is supposed to develop policy framework for the Youth of Ghana, through interactive and brainstorming workshops, capacity building training workshops ,broader consultation and consensus building workshops suffers, due to lack of enough resources.

The National Youth Employment Agency which is supposed to find both temporarily and permanent jobs for the youth and has credibly well since its introduction is suffering a setback due to lack of enough budget, because a lot of the budget goes into athletics.

With the Ghana Black stars disgracing themselves and humiliating the whole country in the ongoing African Nations Tournament, government is expected to revise it notes and re-write a different story.

It is time to stop wasting huge sums of money on the National team, devote a lot of money into NYA and YEA and if we still want to focus on athletics, then we can resource the local teams through the National Sports Council.

The truth is that, the wish of the Ghanaian Youth is how to secure a stable and earn a decent salary.

By doing this we will be calving a better future for our youth, we will be building our local teams and local league tournaments whiles mentoring and scouting for well prepared players and coaches for a better future black stars / National team.

It is now or never and government must act swiftly…. Meantime the current black stars should be disbanded, the incompetent and players, Technical teams etc should be made to refund every pessewa
