Hon. Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, former Deputy Minister for Education and Information and Member of Parliament, North Tongu, completed the Safe Alternative Housing Project for 300 households. This gesture to support his constituents follows the devastating effect of the spillage of the Akosombo dam.

In a post on Twitter, the MP for North Tongu stated that the new abode will take some 300 VRA-induced flood victims. He also thanked all those who contributed to the realisation of the edifice.

According to him, all those who get access to a housing unit from the 300 units will not pay any form of rent to anyone.

“We are eternally grateful to Construction Ambassadors, a subsidiary of the First Sky Group, our chiefs for donating free land, and members of my Alternative Housing Committee for making this possible.” the post by Hon. Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa stated.

His proactiveness in leadership and concern for the people who voted for him have been exemplified once again in this success story.

It took less than 3 months for this to be built; however, some Ghanaians are asking how long it is going to take the government to do the same thing.

He also announced that another set of units will be constructed soon.

Ghanaians have fallen in love with him once and gain and have left samples comments on his post.

Ghanaians don’t ask for much, but gov’t want to build multi DOLLAR homes for affordable housing.. Appiatse buildings are still being built almost 2 damn years after the mining explosion.

Comment 2

This is the kind of politics we speak which many DON’T DO. Thank you Sir for availing yourself to serve your constituency. Your people would have lost GREATLY if they didn’t make you represent them in Parliament.

Comment 3

How can you contest against a man who gives everything to his people

Comment 4

Naaa I’ve never really taken notice of you before. But the way you’ve handled the flood situation speaks volumes. Kudos. And should you ever stand for a position I can partake in casting votes, it’ll be for you p3333

Below is his post:

We are almost there!

Our first Safe Alternative Housing Project

will be ready for commissioning in a few days.

Some 300 VRA-induced flood victims putting up in congested classrooms can now have their dignity restored as they prepare to move into decent modern accommodation.

We are eternally grateful to Construction. Ambassadors a subsidiary of the First Sky Group, our chiefs for donating free land, and members of my Alternative Housing Committee for making this possible.

We shall start work on our second alternative housing project very shortly.

Remember that no one will be asked to pay rent for these houses.

I shall never ever abandon my distressed people.

In this together, rising together.
