Deputy Local Government Minister Tours MMDAs, Commends Old Tafo For Their Collaborative efforts towards Development.

The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Hon Augustine Collins Ntim has expressed satisfaction about the progress and performance of Old Tafo Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region.

He was much impressed and lauded the Assembly for their performance and collaborative efforts towards development though they were newly created assembly.

“Oh Tafo I’m happy see how they are collaborated, the peaceful coexistence between the Chief Executive, the Assembly staffs and the various Departments development is really good” Hon Collins Ntim firmly said in Twi dialect.

In his submission after the presentation from the Health Directorate, however, Hon Augustine Ntim the Member of Parliament for Offinso North in the Ashanti region worried over the upsurge of teenage pregnancies in the Municipality and called for advocacy from stakeholders particularly Nananom, religious leaders and the media of how to contain the menace.

The Deputy Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development is on a evaluation and monitoring tour in the Ashanti region to assess the Health, Agricultural and Educational systems and also ascertain the challenges faced by the various Assemblies.

He has been impressed with the performances of the various MMDAs particularly the Old Tafo Municipal, Afigya Kwabre South District and Kwabre East Municipal Assembly and encouraged them to do more as much is expected from them.

In a welcome address, the Chief Executive for Old Tafo-Pankrono Municipal Assembly, Hon. Lord Inusah Lansah was excited for the deputy minister’s visit to the municipality.

He acknowledged their shortfall and assured the deputy minister to work on it with the various stakeholders through advocacy.

Hon Lord Inusah Lansah complained to the Offinso North Legislator about the delay of the Municipal Assembly’s common fund and thereafter, appealed to him to consider the new MMDAs and release the fund as early as possible to be able to execute developmental projects.
