New Mayor for Kumasi Metropolis Hon Sam Pyne has fast tracked the restoration of electricity power supply at Kejetia market.
His swift intervention was called to play after the entire market was disconnected from the national GRID, subjecting it to hours a total blackout during the wee hours of Thursday 14th October 2021.
After an intense protest by traders amidst the holding of a press conference as a way of voicing out their displeasure, Hon Sam Pyne engaged affected traders in a meeting in the morning to see how best the issue could be resolved.
At the meeting, the leadership of the traders thanked the new Mayor for effecting swift measures which birthed the restoration of electricity supply at the market and promised to cooperate with him.
On the issue of individual meters to each shop and other related issues, Hon Sam Pyne promised to tackle them head-on with all the seriousness it deserves.
On the outstanding debt to ECG by traders, there was fruitful, frank and fair discussions on it with the promise from traders to do their part to offset the debt
