The Adansi Akrofuom District Assembly, has donated dual desks to schools in Akrofuom District to combat close contact among pupils in classrooms to ensur social distanc protocols in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Handing over the 200 desk to the district education directorate, the District Chief Executive Hon. Jonas Morris Wood stated that the President is committed and very keen in education, and he is making every effort to ensure that every Ghanaian child gets access to free and quality education.
He said that, the dual desks are part of measures to curb seating congestion in the various schools and to ensure the social distancing protocols so as to contain the spread of the virus.

According to the Chief Executive, 1600 desks including Teachers desk have already been provided to most of the schools like Takyi Krom D/A JHS, Adom Nyame Primary, Kubi and others within the District.
The Education Director for the Akrofuom District, Mr. George Adu Abrakwa lauded the Chief Executive when receiving the desk on behalf of the Teachers and the Pupils.
According to him it will goes a long way to reduce congestion and close contact in the classrooms amidst corona era. He assured to cultivate a proper maintenance culture to ensure the purpose in which it was given.
