A/R, Kwabre East Municipal: Assembly Members booted away President’s Nominee. REASONS WILL SHOCK YOU, CHECK

Ashanti Region: The Kwabre East Municipal Assembly Members have rejected the President’s Nominee Mr Opoku Agyemang Bonsu.

He was deprived of support after failing to meet the percentage of vote required to be officially accepted as MCE.

Of the 43 total votes cast by both Elected and Appointed Assembly Members, YES votes were 27, NO votes were 15 and 1 rejected ballot.

He needed 29 votes which contributes two-thirds of the total votes cast.

Despite the appeal of the outgoing MCE, Hon. Nana Osei Assibey Bonsu to the Assembly Members at the start of the voting to endorse the Nominee, yet they ended up disapproving Mr Opoku Agyemang Bonsu who was the Constituency Chairman before his nomination.

A section of the Assembly Members were furious at the decision of their colleague members as the Municipality is setback in development especially their deplorable roads.
