Asante Gold Corporation Partners MASLOC To Roll Out Apprenticeship Programs For Communities.

Asante Gold Corporation, a multinational mining company in Bibiani (Mensin Gold) has joined hands with Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) to offer apprenticeship programmes to certain individuals (female Youth) in their catchment area- Bibiani Old and New Compound.

This was disclosed at a ceremony held at Bibiani Compound to officially outdoor twelve (12) individuals who have been selected to undergo various apprenticeship programmes.

The various individuals were assigned to their masters who would offer training and support services to them throughout their 4 year stay with them.

According to the Assembly Member for Bibiani Old and New Compound, Hon Maxwell Ngesah, he met with the Unit Committee and wrote proposals to both MASLOC and Mensin Gold/Asante Gold Corporation, Bibiani Limited and twelve (12) youth from the community were selected for the apprenticeship programmes in hairdressing and dressmaking.

He said the Western Regional Director for MASLOC, Mr. McDaniels Kwasi Nyame provided the electric sewing machines and hair dryers while Asante Gold Corporation on the other hand supported in terms of cash.

Hon Maxwell Ngesah then urged the beneficiaries to humble themselves for their masters and also take good care of the machines given to them for their own good.

In his address, the Sustainability Manager, Asante Gold/ Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited, Lawyer Emmanuel Aidoo urged the beneficiaries to attach a lot of seriousness to the programme.

He continued that all citizens in Bibiani may not have opportunity to work with the mines. Hence, the move to support the youth to acquire skills that would propel them for future exploits.

He promised they will extend their tentacles to other communities upon hearing good report from the first batch.

The beneficiaries were extremely happy for the gesture and promised to make good use of the opportunity.
