Yendi: Legend Agric Minister, Hon Akoto Afriyie Pays Courtesy Call On Yaa Naa

HON. DR. OWUSU AFRIYIE AKOTO ( minister for food and Agriculture) VISITS YAA-NAA IN YENDI

Hon. Dr. Akoto, has expressed a profound gratitude to the Yaa-Naa, Abubakari Mahama II, and Yendi for supporting the Planting for food and jobs program.

Hon. Dr. Afriyie Akoto made this known on Sunday, 5th December 2021, when he paid a courtesy call on the Yaa-Naa at his Gbewaa Palace, at the commencement of his 13-day working visit to the 5-Northern Regions.

“I am here to show my gratitude to you and Yendi for your support in the Agric. Sector. You have supported the Planting for Food and Jobs since time immemorial, and all other flagship programs, but for your unflinching support and that of Yendi to me, we would not have been successful,” the Minister said.

Again “I am here to show you and the entire kingdom my gratitude for that solid support that has sustained the country from famine despite COVID-19 outbreak”.

Hon. Dr. Afriyie Akoto, in explaining the rationale for his visit to the Region, indicated that he is in the Region with his entourage, including national directors to visit farm fields, interact with farmers and staff of the Ministry, and also inspect ongoing projects under the Ministry.

He continued saying that, he would be receiving reports from the various Regional Directors of Agriculture on the status of the Government’s agricultural flagship initiatives and also pay courtesy calls on traditional authorities.

On his part, the Yaa-Naa declared his support and showered praises on the Minister for his commitment and initiatives towards Agriculture.

“I know you are doing well at the Ministry. The Planting for Food and Jobs and other initiatives are also yielding positive results. The major occupation in my region is farming and rearing of animals, and I am very hopeful that your initiatives will help the Region and the entire nation as well. Carry on with the good job” Yaa-Naa said.
