SIM Card Owners Are Now Tax Payers Stop Threatning Them, Ursula Owusu Told

The National Youth Organizer for the Convention Peoples Party Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah has cautioned the Communications Minister Hon Ursula Owusu to stop threatening Ghanaians who are yet to register their Sim cards with deadlines and disconnection of their Sim cards.

According to Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah, the introduction of the Electronic Levy has make every Ghanaian who owns a Sim card a potential tax payer and because of that he expect the minister to rather encourage more Ghanaians to own sim cards instead of discouraging them with threats.

A Lot of Ghanaians have been in long hours queues at the various offices of the telecommunications companies in an attempt to re-register their Sim cards are serving registering their sim cards with their Ghana card through the *400#.

According to Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah, alot of the approach by this government, to raise internal revenue has been wrong.

He says he cannot still understand why the road toll levy has been suspended when clearly government needs more internal generated revenue.

This government has been preaching about the need widen the tax net only for that same government to turn around and engage in policies and programs that either discourages or prevents the Ghanaian from paying his or taxes.
