Some parents and students of the Lashibi Community Day Senior Senior High School in the Tema West Municipal of the Greater Accra Region have expressed worried and disappointment over what they describe as inhuman behaviour exhibited by the headmistress of the school, Mrs. Juliana Ohui Indome and Regional education director Madam Monica.
They have however threatened to withdraw their wards from the school should authorities fail to do the needful.
According to the angry parents, the disrespectful headmistress of the school has been defying GES’ orders to inhumanely maltreat their wards in a way that depicts the children as though they’re animals.
Some students and parents who spoke to this investigator on condition of anonymity said the headmistress who has been charging monies in place of prospectus and other school items, also lay students on tables for teachers to lash them until they get bruises on their bodies.
This, according to the source, is done when a student or some students are unable to provide the amount of money being charged by the headmistress of the school. The money she has been charging, ranges from Gh¢200. The source disclosed.
Meanwhile, a thorough investigation and a video intercepted by this reporter confirms how a student has been laid on a table by the headmistress whilst she orders a teacher to lash the said student mercilessly for similar offence.
This investigator, upon grabbing the news, called to find out from the headmistress who in turn snubbed him by hanging up the call after she had claimed nobody had the right to question or punish her for collecting monies in place of school items and thrashing students for failure to pay the charged amount.
“Not even the GES director can question or punish me for doing this. There’s no way I’m going to stop this, and nobody dares question me. If the GES director dares, I have someone who’s more powerful in position above him, and he can’t even attempt”. She’s quoted to have said.
Meanwhile other close sources reveal that the headmistress has been flexing muscles and be threatening to sack some teachers who criticize her defiant acts.
Parents who spoke to this reporter have therefore called on the government and the other necessary authorities to immediately intervene to put the needed measures to stave off the wicked acts of the ‘marijata” mistress of the school.
