Green Ghana Day: Friends Of NAELP Coordinator Leads Delegation To Traditional Palace, Schools To Plant 600 Seedlings in Old Tafo-Pankrono.
As part of the government’s brilliant initiative to green ghana by planting 20 million trees across the country, friends of the Coordinator for National Alternative Employment and Livelihood Program (NAELP), Dr. Louise Carol Serwaa Donkor in the Ashanti region with a delegation paid a courtesy call on chiefs and some basic schools in the old Tafo-Pankrono municipality presented to and joined them to plant about 600 seedlings on Friday.
President Nana Akufo Addo launched the Green Ghana Initiative last year 2021, which saw more than 5million trees planted across the country however the President targets 20 million trees this year aimed to preserve and protect the country’s forest cover and the environment at large.
Some of the Seedlings presented were Coconut, Teak, Acacia Mango, Oil Palm and Ofram tree seedlings with 1 hundred each.
The delegation was led on behalf of the NAELP Coordinator by Madam Mabel Donkor, some New Patroitic Party Executives and polling station Delegates formed the deputation.
Presenting and planting her first seedlings, Madam Mabel Donkor called on the youth in the municipality to rally behind the President’s Green Ghana initiative.
She implored the townfolks that the project is a collective responsibility for which a concerted effort is needed to address the adverse degradation of Ghana’s Forest reserve and for that matter the beatification of the environment for good ventilation, therefore encouraged them to partake in the process as their contribution to national development.

Receiving and taking part of his responsibility as a patriot in the national assignment project, the Tafo Chief, Nana Agyem Frimpong Ababio Okogyeadwa lauded President Akufo-Addo and his government for initiating such an outstanding and laudable project.
Nana Agyem Frimpong Ababio Okogyeadwa was very grateful to receive the delegation. He prayed and bless Dr Serwaa Donkor and the entire delegation for the honor the NAELP Coordinator has brought to Tafo and the entire municipality.
He did not only urged the people to embrace the initiative but also admonished them to nurture the trees to prevent them from dying.
