Cape Coast Rape Case: Mother of Inmate Sends Tough Message to Prez Over IGP Boys

The recent heartbreaking incident that witnessed the unexpected rape of an inmate by one of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare’s boys has so raked massive stir, debates and arguments across all social as most Ghanaians were surprised to witness such act by a police officer.

Even though the Acting Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare has been putting all hands on deck in other to instill discipline and good work ethic amongst his police officers, all efforts seem to be futile considering the recent behavior exhibited by the police officer who boldly raped a female inmate and later freed her.

According to reports gathered from the incident that led to raped of the teenager, police officer convinced the suspect who is now a victim that, her case wasn’t huge enough to go to court so he could help her escape from prison easily.

Theresah Forson, who was the teenager involved in the Nkofoa police brouhaha narrated that, the police officer made her drink two sachets of alcohol after which he slept with her in the prison.

According Theresah Forson , the police officer had an intimate intercourse with her for four solid rounds before she was freed as the police officer pretended to be asleep whilst his other colleague was also fast asleep.

With respect to this, the mother of the rape victim, Cynthia Takyi Mensah has boldly come out to send another tough message to President Akufo-Addo over the recent rape case involving her daughter and the IGP Dampare’s boy.

Even though the police service have boldly come out to claim that, the victim planned her own escape, Theresah and her mother claim otherwise as they’ve urged for further investigations into the most anticipated case.

Speaking on Adom Fm, Cynthia Takyi Mensah expressed her disappointment in the Ghana police service whilst highlighting that, President Akufo Addo should investigate Dampare and the police service over recent cases which had been causing massive reactions online.

“When we got to the police station, there was no evidence that prove that my daughter escaped prison by herself. The keys used to open the prison gates weren’t with my daughter. President Akufo-Addo has to investigate the IGP and the police service immediately. We will not agree with them. The police who raped my daughter should be dealt with accordingly with the law”, Cynthia emphatically stated.
