Astrazeneca: 14,893 people received in Old Tafo Municipal, Public warned over recent abuse of covid protocols- Health Director

Astrazeneca Vaccine 14,893 people vaccinated in Old Tafo Municipal, Health Director cries over alarming rate of Ghanaians defying covid safety protocols

The Old Tafo Municipal Director of Health Services, in the Ashanti Region, Madam Faustina Osei Mensah has cautioned the general public on the alarming rate at which people are flouting the covid-19 safety protocol.

According to her, the wearing of nose-mask and washing of hands especially have not been seen among most Ghanaians in recent times which she describes it as very precarious to the health system.

At the second section of the second general assembly meeting of Old Tafo Municipal Assembly, Madam Faustina Osei Mensah admonished the various Opinion Leaders and Stakeholders in the Municipality that until every Ghanaian is vaccinated to achieve 100 percent immunity, we are not protected or safe from covid-19 variant waves, therefore they should educate their electorates to respect the safety protocols.

She disclosed that a total 8054 people took the first phase vaccination whilst 6839 people jabbed in the second phase of the astrazeneca vaccination contributing to the total of  14893 people.

The Health Director entreated the general public to desist from unprescribed use of drugs which as a result causing many health disorders among most Ghanaians recently.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Fred Obeng Owusu addressing the general Assembly encouraged people in the Municipality to never relent in supporting the government due to recent economic hardship that covid-19 pandemic brought to the world which Ghana is not let out.

Hon Fred Obeng outlining some major developmental achievement in his two years as MCE in the new assembly stated that, the President and the government are poised and on course developing the country to benefit and improve the lifestyle of people in spite of the adverse condition of the novel pandemic wave.

He mentioned the new asphalted roads in the Municipality among them were Okess Junction-Abaawa Ruth-Akwasi Oppong stretch, Krofrom Junction-Nhyiaeso stretch, Pankrono-Abed roads etc,

Construction of school block edifices througout the Municipality and the newly constructed two story Administration block skyscraper which is yet to be Commissioned, all within two years as the Chief Executive Officer when the Municipal Assembly was carved from Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.
