Ahafo Region: Akokoamon gets School for the first time

Nana Ameyaw Basoa the Kronkohene of Duayaw Nkwanta Traditional Council in the Ahafo Region has constructed a three unit classroom block, offices and washroom for Akokoamon a small community near Duayaw Nkwanta in the Tano North Municipality.

Handing over the GHC200000 project to the Tano North Municipal Assembly, the Farmer and Businessman explained that what urged him to take that move. According to him, He saw the challenges and implications kids below ten to five years encounter when trekking for about five kilometers everyday before they get access to education due to lack of school in the area, very worrying and eventually touched his heart to render such benevolency to the pupils.

The Philanthropist further explained that as part of his social responsibility to help support the Vulnerable, Poor and government, disability friendly facility wasn’t left out during the construction.

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Tano North Municipal Assembly, Hon Ernest Kwarteng also thanked Nana Ameyaw Basoa for making such a wonderful gesture and called on other stakeholders, corporate bodies and Philanthropists to emulate the same spirit since government alone could not develop the country.

He appealed to the Residents and the beneficiaries to cultivate maintenance culture for the benefit of future generation.

Meanwhile the Odikro of Akokoamon, Nana Kwarteng Amaning, blessed the donor for the support and clemency he has shown on the pupils and the community.

The school which was named after the Kronkohene Nana Ameyaw Basoa was graced by lots of dignitaries.
