Residents Left Stranded As Floods Submerges Houses, Schools, Palace ~ Chief Cries Out

The activities of Assin Asempanaye Palace have been halted for some time now after torrential rain nearly submerged the place. The flood did not only affect the palace but schools, churches, and houses were also affected.

The Afianaman Nifahene of the area, Nana Amoh Tsibuh II, speaking with Bohyeba FM blamed the cause on Shimizu Dai Nippon Construction working on Assin Fosu-Praso N8.

According to him, their ancestor’s graves were even not spared.

He said they will be forced to hit the street with demonstrations against the company and the Assin North District Assembly if something is not done about it as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the affected residents sharing their ordeals with Kofi Tutu noted they are stranded as their houses have submerged but all efforts to get the attention of the Assin North District Assembly proved futile.
