Ahafo regional party of of the New Patriotic Party has praised Government of Ghana and Newmont Ghana Gold on the reconstruction of deplorable Hwidiem to Kenyasi road.
Hwidiem to Kenyasi road was abandoned in 2016 by then NDC government .
In 2020, government,Nananom and Newmont at numerous engagement appealed to road ministry to change the road from cocoa road to Ghana highways and more significantly from Bitumen(Sapeten)to Asphalt overlay.
Again,the Hon.Minister of lands and natural resources,John Abu Jinapo on his visit to the gold company made an appeal to Newmont to partner government to reconstruct the road.
At a press conference held at Asutifi North district capital Kenyasi,the regional party on behalf fo the residents commended government, Newmont and nananom in the Ahafo region for their effort towards the construction of the road.
Finally, Newmont Ghana has agreed to partner government and the work has begins.

Asutifi North constituency secretary,Mr.Emmanuell Duah urged all stakeholders to support the agenda and stop politicizing government projects.
