Ongoing WASSCE: 6 Teachers, 3 Impersonated Candidates arrested ~ WAEC

The Branch Comptroller of the Bono, and Ahafo and Bono East Regions of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Mr Anthony Kwasi Logozdo has disclosed that 3 suspected cases of impersonation have been reported to the police in the ongoing West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

According to him, 6 teachers have also been arrested at Bechem for assisting candidates to cheat by solving questions.

Describing the development as worrying, he said the then Bono Ahafo Region tops in teems of examination malpractices every year in Ghana.

In an interview with Nana *Asempa Asa of Space FM*, he said one impersonator was arrested from Sunyani Business College school while other two impersonators were also arrested at Oxford senior high school in Sunyani.

Mr. Kwasi Logozdo explained that 50,199 candidates from 127 schools are sitting for WASSCE in Bono, Ahafo and Bono East this year from 127 Senior High Schools.

The number according to him are made up of 28,289 males and 31,910 females.

The examination according to him, is writing in 127 schools comprising 42 private senior high schools and 85 public senior high schools at 190 centers in the three regions.
