We Call On Gov’t To Rescue The People Of Apitikooko From Drinking Poisonous Water Chiefs And People Of Apitikooko Cry Out.

The chiefs and people of Apitikooko in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti region have called on the government and stakeholders to come to their rescue as a mining company in Obuasi gradually polluting their water bodies with dangerous chemicals.

Speaking at a press conference organized by the community and a pressure group based in Adansi by name Adansi Progressive Association APA, the chief of the community, Nana Yaw Ofori and his queen mother, Nana Akosua Pomaa called on the Government and other stakeholders to intervene on their behalf before Obuasi mine tilling dam dangerous chemical waste products from mining site heap at the askirt of the community kill them since they have started receiving signs and symptoms according to report.

The chairman of Adansi Progressive Association (APA), Mr. Akwasi Aboagye speaking on behalf of the pressure Group revealed how dangerous the chemicals have affected the water bodies, foodstuffs, animals and air in the community according to the report they have.
