Atebubu Amantin:
Madam Mavis Nyaaba, Npp constituency women’s organiser for Atebubu Amantin has donated a canoe to the people of Bolga Village, a farming community in the Atebubu Amantin Municipality of the Bono East region.
She said the gesture was to ease movement of people in the community to other neighbouring settlements and markets.
According to her Bolga Village had been one of the communities that served as the food baskets for the Atebubu Amantin Municipality but often cut off by the Nwomo river during the raining season and was hopeful the canoe would make things better, promising more of such supports.
She said said the donation was in response to the needs presented by the chief of the area.
“Teachers in the Bolga Village will also now have access to a public canoe that would transport them from the neighboring communities to their schools”
On his side, Opanin Bornyeh Bija, chief of the Bolga Village who received the items on behalf of the people appreciated the efforts of the women organiser.
He said the canoe would relief farmers from extravagant cost in transporting products to market centres.
Meanwhile some of the residents also shared their happiness by commending Npp women’s organizer for her donation. According to them the canoe has come at the right time since we are in raining season.
