Ahead of what is expected to be a heated internal contest to choose the next flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress NDC, a leading contender Dr. Kwabena Duffour has named two personalities he would consider as his running mates should he get the nod.
Dr. Dufour named Speaker of Parliament Alban S.K. Bagbin and Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu as his top two choices for running mate should the NEC return him as flagbearer of the party ahead of the 2024 contest.
In an interview on TV3 with Roland Walker monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Dr. Duffour said the two are dynamic figures with sterling records as public figures and distinguished lawmakers, citing Mr. Bagbin’s more than 30 years experience as a lawmaker.
Dr. Duffour has been engaged in a series of talks aimed at galvanizing suport for his ambition around the nation and providing blueprint solutions to the problems confronted by our country.
He has been strongly linked to partner John Mahama in the past but the two are expected to slug it out in the internal race.
The NDC Youth Organizer George Opare Addo is strongly linked to Dr. Duffour’s agenda, a charge he continues to deny but insiders remain unconvinced.
