Jaman North District: Typhoid Fever on the rise ~ Mr. Issah Sumaila

The Emergency Unit in charge of the Sampa Government Hospital in the Jaman North District of the Bono region, Mr. Issah Sumaila popularly known as Korruption King has revealed that typhoid fever is on the rise in the Jaman North district as a result of the filthy nature of the environment.

Speaking in an interview on a program dubbed You and Your Health on Gye Nyame FM chaired by Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, He indicated that Salmonella Typhi, a bacteria that causes typhoid fever mostly dwells in an unclean environment indicating that the Jaman North District is predominantly full of filth hence the increasing rate of the ailment in the district.

He revealed that typhoid fever in the district is on the rise among the young ones (Children) because they are always found playing on the grounds and other filthy areas which is easily transferred to adults in the various homes.

Madam Joan Nyetoh a Pediatric Nurse at the Sampa Government Hospital pleaded with the general public to ensure that our foods are well prepared and covered in a hygienic environment to prevent the outbreak of typhoid indicating that parents must also monitor what their children take in or play with since it can cause the ailment.

She also urged us to desist from environmental pollution and ensure that our environment is well-cleaned and tidied up to prevent the spread of typhoid fever.
