“Ghana only Sub-Saharan African country to have nearly attained gender parity at the Senior High School level” ~ Education Minister

This morning, 9th August 2022, I was super excited to join the Standard Chartered Girls Empowerment Forum to celebrate 5 years of implementing GOAL in Ghana.

I was glad to learn that the GOAL project which is a flagship program of the Standard Chartered Bank, is aimed at empowering girls to actively contribute to our country’s overall economic growth.

In my address, I announced that Ghana happens to be the only Sub-Saharan African country to have nearly attained gender parity at the Senior High School level.

I also emphasized the need to encourage more girls to enroll in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics disciplines.

Special congratulations to the CEO of Standard Chartered Ghana, Mrs. Mansa Nettey for leading such an innovative intervention program to empower girls from deprived communities.
