FSHS: Gov’t Praises Teachers For Supporting

Govt expresess gratitude to Teachers for supporting the course of free Senior High School

The Minister for Tourism, Arts and culture Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal has commended teachers for their immense support to about 1.6 million Ghanaian students who have benefitted from free Senior high school project introduced by the NPP government.

He said the huge number of beneficiaries in school was a sign of significant transformation to Ghana.

Dr. Mohammed Awal, who spoked on-behave of the Vice President Dr. Mahamud Bawumia who was the Guest of Honor said this at the comomeration of World Teachers Day which was under the Theme: Teachers wanted Reclaiming Teacher and Learning for a Human-centered Recovery held in Sunyani, the Bono Region.

The President of Ghana National Association of Teachers Ms. Philipa Larson expressed worried about the inability of the President Nana Addo to attend their programme.

The outspoken Gnat President said this is the fifth time the President Nana Akufo Addo has not been able to attend a day to celebrate teachers in the world.

Meanwhile Mr. Ebenezer Kwadwo Otoo, a Teacher at Winneba Senior High School in the Effutu Municipal in Central Region was crowned as the Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher 2021, he had Three Bedroom House, Assorted items and Ghc 250,000.

The 1st Runner Up Mr. Ebenezer Kwadwo Otoo expresess grateful to the government for establishing National Teaching Council.

He said the council has instituted a transparent procedure to select deserving awardees.
