MILITARY BASE TO BE SET UP AT
MAAME KROBO TO IMPROVE SECURITY.
Plans are far advance for the establishment of permanent military at Maame Krobo in the Afram Plains South District in the Eastern region. The move is to help improve the security situation in the area and help speed up development as they bring the activities of the fulani herdsmen under control.
In a visit to inspect a fifty acre land and some facilities by officials from the Ghana Arm forces and the Eastern Regional Minister. Briefing the media after the inspection, the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong said ,there has been the need for the establishment of the military base after several efforts to get the security issues in the Afram plains area under control.
He expressed the hope that the occasional conflicts between fulani herdsmen and crop farmers will be a thing of the past with the presence of the military.
The District Chief Executive Officer for Afram plains South Evans Kyei Ntirr was grateful to the various traditional leaders especially the Okwahumanhene Dasebre Akuamoah Agyapong for their support.
