Covid-19: Lake Bosomtwe closed for Easter holidays- Bosomtwe District Assembly

Following the recent release issued by the Ghana Police Service concerning the Easter holidays and covid-19, the Bosomtwe District Assembly wishes to inform the general public that it has temporarily suspended all tourist related gatherings and activities in and around the Lake Bosomtwe during the upcoming Easter holidays.

A statement signed for the District Chief Executive Hon Lawyer Joseph Akwasi Asuming, the notice takes effect from Friday 2nd April, 2021 to Monday 5th April 2021.

Speaking to Hello News reporter Rexkin Ohene Boateng, the District PRO, Madam Vida Boatemaa Agyekum said this is a preventive measures by the Assembly’s fight against covid-19, and the need to ensure that the general public adhere to the Presidential directives on prevention and safety protocols.

She added that consequently, the hosting of any carnivals, festivals, parties or fun fairs and large physical gathering events at the Lake side is completely banned during the period.

The District information Director warned that the security forces especially the police will be deployed at various vantage points at the Lake front to ensure strict adherence to the directives.
