C/R: Zoom Lion workers in Assin Fosu threatens naked demonstration against authorities over 2 years unpaid salaries.

The Coalition of Aggrieved Former Workers of Zoomlion Ghana Ltd (CAFWOZ) in the Assin North and Assin Central have threatened a massive demonstration against the employers of zoomlion Ghana Ltd over 2 years of unpaid salaries.

The cleaners, mostly women, who earn between ₵100.00 and ₵200.00 a month to sweep streets, markets and the central business districts across the country complain about neglect and hardship for the past 2 years.

The disgruntled workers, speaking with Rich Fm and Angel Fm/TV reporter Kwame Owusu Asante Shadeack, said the authorities of the firm in the area are doing nothing to ameliorate their sordid plight after several complaints, however, they have dispassionately laid them off and replaced them with another set of new recruits without putting their burden into consideration.

“We must eat and feed our families. For the leaders who have hoarded our money, if they don’t pay us but get another set of people to replace us, meanwhile some of us are widows and breastfeeding mothers, we shall curse them,” they threatened.

They reiterated that the former boss of zoom lion in Assin Fosu, Mr. Ebenezer Thompson and the current supervisor, Mr. George Bismark Arhin are the cause of their predicaments. Now they are left with no option but to curse the authorities and their next line of action will be a naked demonstration.
