Bosomtwe District: Police holds a woman in connection with illegal mining operation.

The Asokwa and Bosomtwe district police commands have arrested 4 people for operating illegal mining “galamsey”

Police confirmed that the 4 suspects Kwadwo Amankwah 55, Kwaku Akwaboah 22, Yaw Opoku 45 and one lady Safia Salifu 24 were arrested in the early hours of Monday at Beposo in the Bosomtwe district of Ashanti followed information received from the Bosomtwe district assembly.

The 98 police personnels also took to their custody generators and other tools and equipments necessary for their activities.

The district Chief Executive Lawyer Joseph Kwasi Asuming explained to our reporter Rexkin Ohene Boateng that the assembly will continue hunt for every illegal operations within the district including those putting structures in waterways and unauthorized areas.
