Birth and Death Registry appeals to government to train mortuary men for better record keeping of death

Some elite mortuary men and other units at hospitals could be trained to assist better record keeping of deaths as a nation _ birth and death registry appeals to government.

The head of the birth and death registry in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality, Peter Kwaku Narh has said to ensure better record keeping of deaths as a nation, government can train some mortuary men who are educated to keep records of dead bodies that would be brought for preservation.

He appealed to government to also task some units at the various hospitals and the police to keep records of deaths at accident scenes which should be forwarded to the birth and death department to enhance better developmental planning as a nation.

He urged the good of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai to desist from burying their dead bodies without registering them for it is against the law.

According to Mr Narh, registration of birth in the municipality is better as compared to death registration, adding that it’s only people who have some entitlements or insurance packages to collect after their relatives have pass on do come voluntarily to register .
