Atta Battor D/A Primary school is so dilapidated, needs urgent government support ~ headmaster laments .

Atta Battor D/A primary school is situated at Atta Battor, a farming community in between Camp 15 junction in the Bia East District of the Western North Region and Kwaayeboakrom in the Dorma West District.

Though children population of the school from KG to primary six is over 200 they have no befitting school structure and teachers bungalow to accommodate teachers from remote areas and this has affected the children interms of effective teaching and learning.

Primary six Children who graduate from Atta Battor would either have to walk 9 miles to Kwaayeboakrom which is a standard school or to Ahinfulkrom which is also about 3 and half miles away.

Our reporter Awuku Addo visited the village and the assistant headmaster, Mr Kwesi Baah shared their plight with him and called on government to as a matter of urgency come to their aid.

Some of the teachers who have been posted from Kumasi and Obuasi to Atta Battor also shared their plight and experience calling on government and well meaning Ghanaians to come to their aid especially in terms of school infrastructure and teachers accommodation.

The DCE for Bia East District, Hon Nicholas Yayin Niber speaking with Awuku Addo in reacting to the plight of his people said the assembly has in their plans to those communities including Atta Battor but their major challenge is that they don’t have enough means of generating income for the assembly, but he called them to exercise restraint for better times ahead.
