Akyem-Kade: Man Who Fired Gun Shots At Funeral Gathering Granted Gh¢5000 Bail, Residents Disgruntled

Akyem Kade Youth Angry As Man Who Unlawfully Fired Gun Shots At Funeral Gathering Fines Ghc5,000 And Granted Bail By Kade District Court.

Concerned youth of Akyem Kade in the Kwaebibirem Municipality of Eastern region in a press conference have expressed disappointment in the Kade police and Kade district court for finding Osei Kojo Forson who unlawfully entered Kade funeral grounds and scattered the ongoing funeral activities and threatened to shoot Akyem Kade chief Osaaberima Agyare Tenadu II if he dares sit on his chair at the funeral.

They explained that due to the unlawful shooting incidence which took place on Saturday 10th September, 2022 residents of Akyem Kade especially women, children and some of youth are really afraid and feared their lives being in danger when they got information from the police and Kade district court that the suspect Osei Kojo Forson has only been find Ghc5,000 and allowed to roam about freely.

They have threatened to stage a massive demonstration against the Kade police especially the municipal police commander and express their disappointment in their side for not filing better charges which could have aided the court to imprisoned the suspect of give him punishment which could deter others from engaging in such unlawful act.

They added that the chief of Akyem Kade Osaaberima Agyare Tenadu II aside the chieftaincy dispute he is battling with in the town has been fighting galamsey and preventing the people from galamsey activities in the Kade community and its environs which has warranted his hatred by some top galamsey miners of which the suspect Osei Kojo Forson is among.

They have therefore called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare to transfer the Kade municipal police commander; Superetendant Agyenin Boateng if possible because he has been in the Municipality for too long and has gotten used to the people hence they suspect him of being influenced by any of the factions anytime there is chieftaincy war in Akyem Kade.
