Adopt New Technologies To Improve Your Farming Activities ~ Minister

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister for Agriculture has commended farmers in Ghana for their contributions to food security in the country.

Speaking at the launch of the 38th celebration in Koforidua on Tuesday, the minister emphasised that farmers have over the years played a major role in providing both food, meat and fishes to Ghanaians.

Hitting on the theme: ”Accelerating Agriculture Development through Value Addition” the minister urged farmers to adopt new technologies available to them to improve on their activities.

He, however, stated that the Akufo-Addo led Government since 2017 has initiated many policies and programs to help improve the agriculture sector.

He added that this year’s celebration which starts on Tuesday 28th November, 2022 will afford both farmers and fishermen to display their produce.

Meanwhile, the new juaben Omanhene, Dasebre Dr. Kwaku Boateng on his part was emphatic that the region is known to be producer of many food produce and acknowledged hosting the 38th edition of the Farmers Day.

He revealed that the region produces most of the food items that are transported to cities and other towns to feed the growing population.

The National edition is slated for Friday December 2, 2022 at the Koforidua Jubilee Park with President Akufo-Addo expected to be the Special Guest of Honour.

ADB Bank also organized a cocktail party to welcome the Galante Awared winners same night.

Mr. Kwame Asiedu Attrams, General Manager in charge of Agri- Business, ADB on his part explained to Michael Akrofi what their motivation has been as this is the 11th edition.
