TB FIGHTING: Health Directorate Fails To Achieve Mid-Year Target

The Ahafo Regional Health Director, Dr. Kwabena Boateng Boakye is worried over how the Directorate is unable to deal with Tuberculosis (TB) related issues, and has hinted of mapping – up comprehensive strategy to fight it.

He expressed his concern during the Ahafo Regional Health Directorate Mid – Year Performance Review Meeting attended by stakeholders and explained that over the past three years the Health Directorate is not getting things right in handling Tuberculosis (TB) as expected which is worrying to the Directorate.

According to him, because the Regional Health Directorate is struggling to meet the target in terms of testing and managing TB, Regional and the Directors of Municipal and District offices have planned to apply Quality Improvement method which has been tried, tested and assisted health workers at Ahafo Techimantia to handle TB causes well. He stated, health workers will do all they can to deal with issues related to TB which remains problematic in solving in Ahafo Region.

Dwantoafohene of Hwidiem, Nana Attaaaku Asomadu Obrempong (I) expressed gratitude to the government for creating Ahafo Region which has helped improve quality healthcare.
