Support Government Policies On Taxes- Salvation Army National Commander To Congregants

Ghana Territorial Commander of the Salvation Army Church, Col. Dr. Samuel Amponsah has charged the entire congregation of the church to support the government’s tax and levy policies to achieve the desired national development and job creation opportunities.

According to Col. Dr. Samuel Amponsah the socio-economic problem of every country requires sustainable revenue generation strategies to tackle, therefore called members in the church to embrace and pay their tax and levy commitments to the government.

Col. Dr. Samuel Amponsah said this in a message delivered on his behalf by the territorial secretary for programs, Lt. Col. Frederick Khamalishi at a music festival competition as part of the Salvation Army church’s 100th year anniversary celebration at Suame in the Ashanti region.

He added that although tax paying is mandatory for the citizenry and it is also biblical as enshrined in the holy book, but the government must make proper use of it to benefit the people, which they must feel direct impact from paying those taxes.

The theme for the music festival is dubbed “Christ our Goal, Yesterday, Today and Forever”.

The Territorial Music Director, Major Asare Bediako Tawiah advised Ghanaian gospel musicians to not only use their talent to fish more souls for Christ but they should as well showcase and live descent, exemplary live to bring the industry and for that matter Christianity to fame.

Major Tawiah furthermore urged other musicians that as the world is connected through the internet, they should make sure they put out quality work and utilize the resource available to them to aid in the production of quality music.

Explaining the purpose of the occasion the territorial band master, Mr. Agyemang-Duah Richard said
that their music has frequently decreased death anxiety, and increased people’s satisfaction with life.

He added that their music has increased self-esteem and bestowed upon the person’s sense of self-control and also imparted souls for Christ.

The competition was demarcated into four (4) divisions namely; Nkwakwa division, Ashanti central division, Ashanti North division and Asante Akim division.
