Government is a continuous process and since it’s far-fetched for a government to initiate and complete all projects before its term of office is over, it beholds on the next government to continue projects that were started by the proceeding government.
The only problem is when partisan meanings are read into these projects when they are completed. The bone of contention has been who should be credited for the project, the president who started it or the one who completed it?
Not long ago, there was a debate between sympathizers of the NDC and NPP over who should be credited with the establishment of the Kejetia Market. Fast forward, another debate is rearing its head as the Kumasi International Airport near completion.
The President, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo cut sod for the first one of expansion works on the Kumasi International Airport in 2018. The President on Friday, October 1, inspected ongoing work at the airport where he was told by the contractor that the project is about 77% complete.
But as usual, this started the NDC and NPP debate when the President posted this on his timeline on Facebook. Whereas some commend Akuffo Addo for work done at the Airport, others felt John Dramani Mahama should be credited instead.
