In order to improve and standardize the teaching profession, the National Teaching Council is issuing license to professional teachers who teach in both public and private schools in the country.
It is in this light that, the Western and Western North Regional Secretary for GNAT Mr Boadu Abedi William has stated that, Ghana Education Service has code of professional conduct that spells out the DOs and the DON’Ts in the teaching profession.
He stressed explicitly that, the license of any teacher who goes contrary to this clearly scripted professional code of conduct can be revoked outrightly.
He therefore entreated teachers to submit themselves to the rules and regulations of the noble teaching profession so as to make a positive impacts in the society.
In an interview with Listowel Aboagye Dacosta of sweet FM, Mr Boadu Abedi William encouraged teachers to attend the various NTC workshops in order to build more points accumulation to be able to renew their licenses because, very soon teachers will also use the professional touch that is, the license for salary negotiation with the government and bargain for better condition of service for teachers.
Finally, he acknowledged that, every year the government supports every teacher with Gh1,200 for their Continues Professional Development so he implored teachers to use the money for the exact purpose with which the money is given to them.
