67th Independence Parade: Democracy has shaped Ghana’s destiny ~ Dr APC

As Ghanaians commemorate 67th year after colonial rule, it is imperative to recognize the pivotal role that democracy has ensured in shaping the nation’s fortunes the chief executive of the Afigya Kwabre south district assembly, Hon. Dr. Adu-Poku Christian has said.

According to him the current democracy has given Ghanaians platform to express their opinions, choose their leaders and indeed their pride which shows the unity, diversity and strength as a people.

Hon. Dr. Adu-Poku Christian aka APC speaking to reflect on the theme: “Our Democracy, Our Pride” during 6th March day parade at Afrancho in the Ashanti region, highlighted some of the social intervention programs such as free senior high school (FSHS) policy, planting for food and jobs (PFJ), one district one factory policy 1D1F, etc by the President Akuffo Addo and NPP government which have addressed the needs of the vulnerable in the society.

He added that, the NPP’s flagship health programs, such as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the construction of new hospitals, have been instrumental in improving healthcare accessibility and affordability for all Ghanaians,

“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana today had initiated “Agenda 111″ as a flagship project aimed at constructing 111 district hospitals across the country to enhance healthcare infrastructure”, APC stressed.

The Chief Executive further acknowledged the strides made by the NPP government in advancing the cause of good governance, transparency and accountability.

Ahead of the 2024 general elections, the chairman of the Afigya Kwabre south district security council urged the public especially the youth to desist from all violent activities before during and after elections to protect the current peace and democracy.

In attendance was the chief of Afrancho traditional area, Nana Asumadu Poku Ababio who chaired the occasion.
