“protect Airport Lands” ~ President Charges Lands Commission and Airport Regulators

President Nana Addo charges Lands Commission and Airport regulators to protect Airport Lands

President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo has urged lands Commission, operators and regulators of airport and the traditional leaders to strike hard to ensure that lands belonging to airports are safeguarded against widespread encroachment.

The phenomenon, the President said threatens the future expansion of airports in the country.

President Nana Addo said this during the commissioning of first phase of sunyani Airport project.

The first phase rehabilitation project costs the government Ghc 50 million.

Adding that the runway has being expanded from 1,280 meters to 1,400 meters.

He explained that the rehabilitation project was included the repair of the apron to accommodate small to medium size aircraft.

The President further declared that the airport opened for operations.
