The Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, Hon Adansi Bona Elijah has warned his people over invasion of tax which is the main source of revenue for the government.
He said this when filing his annual tax returns at a one week exercise organized by the Municipal branch of the Ghana Revenue Authority to educate the public on Tax Identification Number, (TIN) program at Obuasi Central Market on Tuesday.
The Chief Executive affirmed Ghana beyond Aid and therefore everyone must involve in Tax paying so as to enable the government to undertake developmental projects.
The theme of the exercise dubbed “filing your Tax – your Civic Responsibility. Addressing the traders the Ag. Assistant Commissioner who doubles as the Municipal Manager of Small Tax Payers Office, Mr Yaw Asiedu -Danquah explained the purpose and importance of paying tax and acquiring the 11 digit unique TIN number.
