Former President, John Dramani Mahama has sent a strong message to the Chief Justice, Justice Annin Yeboah, and the entire judiciary of the country.
While speaking at a meeting with the United States Chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Bentley University on Sunday, March 27, 2022, former President John Mahama revealed the NDC does not have the maximum hope in the judiciary and that they have a problem with the judiciary.
He, therefore, asked the Chief Justice, Annin Yeboah, to institute some sort of reforms in the judiciary as soon as possible.
“We do have problems with the judiciary, I must say. I think that some internal reforms must take place there. It is necessary for the Chief Justice or whoever is responsible to make some reforms.”
“Most of the governance institutions have been politicized. I give the example of the judiciary. It is only in Ghana that a Supreme Court will decide that a birth certificate is not proof of citizenship.” Mahama revealed.
Do you think Mahama is just talking and has no basis?
Should the Chief Justice and the Judiciary listen to John Mahama and grant the NDC those reforms?
Do you agree or disagree with John Mahama? Is there a problem with the current judiciary under Akufo-Addo?
