CONDUCT BREAST SELF EXAMINATION EVERY MONTH FOR EARLY DETECTION OF BREAST CANCER- WOMEN ADVISED
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is marked in countries across the world, and helps to increase attention and support for awareness, early diagnosis, and treatment as well as palliative care for women facing this disease.
Speaking to Kwaku Mensah Abrampa on Gye Nyame Fm’s Adeakye Abia, The Chief Executive Officer for Breast Care International Ghana Dr Beatrice Wiafe Addai has advised women to Carry out breast self examination every month, women must ensure they visit to an expert in every year for clinical breast screening.
Also women who have turned 40 years and above must visit hospital for mammogram to be conducted which she said will facilitate early detection of the breast cancer among women to ensure early solution.
Dr Beatrice Wiafe Addai admonished that, women diagnosed with breast cancer should not feel shy with it because the ailment is internationally recognized hence Early diagnosis remains the cornerstone of breast cancer control. When found early, and if adequate diagnosis and treatment are available, there is a good chance that breast cancer can be cured.
She also encouraged men to regularly help their partners screen their breasts in order for early detection of breast cancer.
She said men should suck on the breast of their partners which she said will help their partners screen their breasts.
