COVID-19: This year’s 6th March (March past) anniversary parade suspended- GES

Ghana Education Service GES, has suspended the impending 64th national Independence Anniversary Parade.

A statement dated on 15h February 2021 issued and signed by the Deputy Director General of the Ghana Education Service, Anthony Boateng says the management of GES had in a receipt of a letter dated on 11th February 2021 from the Office of the Chief of Staff, Office of the H. E. the President of the Republic directing the suspension of this year’s 6th March celebrations.

According to the said directive, all activities related to the 6th March must be halted in the Regions, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country due to the high prevalence rate of COVID-19 cases in the country.

Consequently management of GES therefore by this directive wish to inform the Regions that the 64th Independence Anniversary Parade on the 6th March 2021 has been suspended forthwith across the Country.
