Council of State Elections A/R: Akrofonso Chief wins second time

Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, a 67-year-old traditional ruler at Akrofonso in the Sekyere South District of Ashanti has won second time as the Ashanti regional representative on the Council of State Member elections which took off Nationwide on Friday.

He was massively endorsed with 77 votes out of 86 ballots whilst his main opponents Nana Bobie Ansah II, 59, a financial/ Businessman polled six votes and James Nana Prempeh, 45, a self-employed obtained only three votes with the remaining candidates recording no vote.

Heroesghnews prior to the elections embarked on a survey which revealed that Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong performance in the first term was outstanding and superb.

He has executed his mandates credibly and many of the populate in the Region were yielding and calling for his second term.

He was someone who has future prospect ambitions for Ashanti Region and had liased with H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.

He was most likely to win the baton for the second time.

Meanwhile the President, Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, persuant to article 89(2) of the Constitution had already appointed 11 persons to the Council of State headed by Juabenhene, Nana Otuo Siriboe II.
