C/R: Only 14% of Beneficiaries of Masloc loans have Paid- Hajia Mahama Zakariah.
Chief executive officer of Masloc, Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah has underscored the need for beneficiaries of Maslog loans to as matter of urgency pay back their loans to enable others to also benefit.
She emphasise that the loan is a revolving fund and that there is the need to retrieve the fund to give to others.
“There are lots of people who have taken the loans. In Central region alone, over Ghc 12 million have been disbursed and just 14% have been retrieved, which is not encouraging. We have therefore asked managers of maslog to do well to recover at least 50% of the total rate because that will really help”.
Hajia Mahama Zakariah disclosed this at a stakeholder meeting on how to pay back their loans in cape coast.
Speaking to Peace News’Sally Ngissah, she indicated that there will be no arrest for now, but rather her outfit is starting with a dialogue, indicating that there are processes to this.
She mentioned that her outfit is touring all the regions to try and recover at least some of the loans which is not forthcoming as expected.
“They may not have enough information by way of education or there may even be some misconception about failure to pay back Masloc loans, she stressed.
