A/R: Tanoso Church of Christ donates to Ahensan prisons, OIC calls on general public for support

we are in dire need of support, Philanthropists, Corporate Institution should come to our aid- Adansi Ahensan camp prison Officer in charge has solicited for assistance.

Officer in Charge of Adansi Ahensan camp prison in the Ashanti Region, Chief Superintendent Matthew Kofi Appau has appealed to the general public, corporate Institutions and Philanthropists to provide or construct them with an infirmary facility so as to be able to contain some minor health related issues among the inmates.

He explained that sometimes they rush to Fomena, Dompoase or Bekwai before they get access to health care for any sick inmate, therefore the infirmary will serve as a prison’s mini clinic for inmates of such cases.

Chief Superintendent Matthew Kofi Appau appealed also for good gate lodge and barbed wire fence, disclosing that the current wooden “pampuro” fence wall has been obsoleted.

He made these appeal when Kumasi Tanoso Church of Christ extended benevolency to the inmates on Saturday.

Receiving the gesture the Prison Chief Officer urged the general public
to exhibit love, care towards persons in prison especially when they come out from their jail terms and eschew from stigmatizing them.

Items presented were packets of toilet rolls, washing soaps, shower gel, toothpaste, shaving sticks and other assorted sanitaries items.

The Pastor in Charge of Visitation at the Tanoso Church of Christ Mr. Robert Amankwa speaking to Rexkin Ohene Boateng advised young people of today that freedom is very paramount so they should exercise patience in every endeavors so as to refrain themselves from troubles.

Meanwhile the Leader of benevolency at the Church, Pastor Adusei John encouraging the inmates stated that Ghana needs their service, therefore they should abide by the training and directives the officers are giving them so as to aquire total transformation when they return home.

The inmates are into farming as part of their reform at the camp which not only provide them with food but also serve as revenue. They exhibited some of their palm nuts farm produce.
