A/R: MMDAs Elected Sekyere South District PM As Regional NALAG Rep.

Sekyere South District Presiding Member Elected as Ashanti Regional NALAG Representative.

The Fourty three 43 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the Ashanti Region have met and elected Hon. Michael Opoku the Presiding Member for Sekyere South District Assembly as their Representative of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) for the Region.

The Representative election was peacefully conducted at Akomadan the capital of Offinso north district in accordance with Article 19 (1) of the constitution of NALAG.

A 215 delegates made up of 15 members from each of the 43 assemblies in the region formed the electoral college to endorse the long serving Assembly Man for Bepoase Newtown electoral area at NAC International Hotel on Wednesday.

Mr. Mic as affectionately called received popular acclamation from his colleagues following his unopposed contest. He has taken the barton from Hom. Elijah Adansi Bona, the Obuasi East municipal Chief Executive and he will served for the next two years.

After his glorious victory, Hon. Michael Opoku expressed a greatest joy and gratitude to the members for the confidence and faith shown in him by giving him the mandate to represent them.

He assured them to provide inclusive representation therefore needed their massive support. “Rally behind me to effectively discharge my mandate and I will also never disappoint you” the Ashanti regional NALG Rep elect appealed.

He was accompanied by his chief executive, Madam Katherine Reckling

for heroesghnews, Rexkin Ohene Boateng Hello Fm Kumasi.
