Eschew all forms of professional misconducts, put lives of Patients and Ghanaians first- Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana urges health professionals.
The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo has advised Staffs and Health Professionals at the various Health Facilities in the Country to eschew all forms of misconducts that will bring the Health Profession to disrepute.
He asked them particularly the Doctors, Nurses and Laboratory Technicians to render their service with Tolerance, Careness and Commitment which according to Him is another way to, and will enhance quick respond to treatment for patients.
Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo issued this admonishment at a durbar to Dedicate and Commission a Methodist Hospital Complex for the People at Aburaso-Kromoase and its Neighboring Communities in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region. He commended all whose efforts had led the project completed successfully.
The Presiding Bishop furthermore reprimanded beneficiaries of the edifice to cultivate maintenance culture, “We need to change our attitude to Government and Corporate properties and treat them as if it were one’s private property, for it belongs and useful to all the Ghanaian people” He added.
Most Rev Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo hinted that, the Methodist Church had over the years embarked on an aggressive push for expansion in its health facilities in the Region to mitigate health related menaces, however it would continue to complement the government’s efforts in providing quality healthcare to the masses.
In a welcome address the Manager and Administrator of the Hospital, Mr Gaddiel Otoo said the upsurge cases of diseases, increasing rate of human population and surge in attendance were some of the factors responsible for the upgraded Hospital from its Clinical status, and it is also enshrined in the core values of the Methodist Church to provide quality health care for the people.
He stated that the new edifice is equipped with every necessary facilities make up a Hospital such as theatre, accident and emergency unit, Laboratory, public health unit etc, adding that the facility has resident medical Doctors and Nurses.
The ceremony was graced with several dignitaries, among them were the Member of Parliament for the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, the District Chief Executive, Chiefs and Elders of Aburaso and Kromoase Traditional area, Rev Ministers of Methodist Church etc.
Meanwhile the Chief of Kromoase Traditional Area, Nana Kwaku Sah I, was grateful to the Methodist Church for providing health delivery to the community as it will go a long way to solving health challenges at the area.
He was optimistic that, Nananom have never regretted for releasing a portion of land to the Methodist Church, therefore charged the people to grab the opportunity of the edifice and ensure regular health check-up.
