YEA to sign MOU with the Ghana Police Service to recruit 10% CPA personnel ~ Head, Cooperate Affairs

YEA to sign MOU with the Ghana Police service to recruit 10 percent of CPA personnel into the mainstream policing – Head of Cooperate Affairs

The head of Cooperate Affairs at the Youth Employment Agency, Mr Kwasi Afiriyie asserted that the agency in due time will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ghana Police service to absorb 10 percent of Community Police Assistance (CPA) into the mainstream policing.

He disclosed this in an interview with Addai Mununkum our correspondent on the sidelines of the Agency announcement that the beneficiaries service of engagement officially ends 31st of this month August,2022.

Mr Kwasi Afiriyie was optimistic that the trainees who were recruited under the security module of the Youth Employment Agency YEA to assist personnel of the Ghana Police Service helped the service in checking criminal activities and maintaining law and order in the communities they served.

It will be wise to absorb 10 percent of these trainees into the mainstream policing,we are not saying that the Ghana Police Service should absorb all of them but at least they should give us 10 percent quota he asserted.

The former CEO of YEA Mr Justice Frimpong Kodua have started the process of getting them into the mainstream policing, Mr Kofi Agyapong the new CEO is also continuing the conversation with the Inspector General of Police to absorb 10 percent of CPA personnel into the mainstream policing he said.

He added that the former CEO have written a number of petitions to the IGP to absorb 10 percent quota for the Agency security module, Mr Kofi Agyapong will also follow the process to make sure to get a positive results.

Meanwhile according to Mr Afiriyie , the recruitment will not be restricted to the only outgoing personnel’s but will be open to old personnel’s who want to join the mainstream.
