There was mayhem in the early hours of Sunday, August 21,2022@ Barekese – the capital town of Atwima Nwabiagya North District in the Ashanti region during Akwasidae celebration as irate youth allegedly attacked the chief,s palace.
Nana Amoapim Brenyah I Barekesehene who is in reign three years was accused by the youths for not doing enough in terms of development and demanding extra monies of acquired lands from the indegenes for rezoning and layout.
The irate youth vandalized the chief pickup and the Regional Police Command with his team were stoned as well especially ACP Annor Arhin( Assistant Ashanti Regional Police Commander in quest of ensuring peace and order.
Peace FM/ Hello Fm Nana Akwasi Kyere spoke with Mr Rexford Charles Amoah,a senior brother of Nana Barekesehene of what transpired at Barekese when the royals met for Akwasidae.
Hon Ernest Adusei(Assembly Member for Barekese/ Maabang/ Asenie Electoral Area )thanked the Ashanti Regional Police Command for their support and appeals to the irate youth to calms down,use dialogue rather than demonstration in quest of grievances.
