Achiase: GES Director Upkeeps Parents over “Social Media English” negative impact on students

“SOCIAL MEDIA ENGLISH IS REALLY HAVING NEGATIVE IMPACT ON SCHOOL CHILDREN, PARENTS AREN’T HELPING” DISTRICT EDUCATION DIRECTOR LAMENT”

The Achiase district education service in collaboration with J. A Biney & Company Limited has organized district level Junior High school Maths and Science quiz for forty-four public and private schools under the theme: “Mathematics and Science for life” in the Eastern region.

Speaking to Peace FM reporter Kwabena Ofori, the Achiase district director of education; Mr. Samuel Wadie Kwai lamented bitterly about how social media English is having negative impact on school children academically whilst parents aren’t helping to change their wards.

He explained that children spend more hours home with their parents therefore they should be well monitored by parents on how they spend more time on social media instead of studying their books and latter begin to write social media English at school.

The district chief executive for Achiase district and double as dean for MMDCE’s in the Eastern region and Ghana as a whole; Hon. Eld. Richmond Kofi Amponsah Agyabeng revealed to Peace FM their motive for organizing such an educative program for the kids which intend to strengthen their studies.

The marketing manager for J. A Biney & Co. Ltd; Mr. Prince Edward Debrah who represented the company’s CEO; Mr. John Appiah Biney shared with Peace FM their main aim for sponsoring such a program and also motivated the school children to take their studies seriously in order to become successful people in future.
