Akufo-Addo Worthy of Father’s Day Celebration: Razak Kojo Opoku Writes

Father’s Day is a great day set aside to celebrate responsible fathers who have impacted positively on the lives of their children and on that score, President Akufo-Addo deserves to be celebrated considering his contributions to the fortune of Ghanaian Children since he became President of the Republic of Ghana.

According to Proverbs 13:22, ‘a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children’. This particular verse has kept the life goals and vision of President Akufo-Addo for the future generation of our homeland Ghana. President Akufo-Addo putting much greater importance to Proverbs 13:22 has implemented the following legacy policies despite strong opposition:

1. Free SHS and Free TVET.

The greatest gift a father can give to his children is Education. Through Education, a uniform platform is created for both the rich and the poor.

Through Free SHS/TVET, about 2.2 million Ghanaian children are benefiting, and indeed the future human capital of Ghana is bright.

Posterity shall judge President Akufo-Addo right and the children of the current beneficiaries of Akufo-Addo’s Free SHS/TVET shall bless him forever.

2. Employment
President Akufo-Addo being futuristic about the job security of the next generation came up with the implementation of One District One Factory, YouStart, NEIP, GEA, NAELP, NABCO etc.

Out of passion for creating employment opportunities in the Public sector, President Akufo-Addo pragmatically took Ghana out of IMF Conditionalities which froze the public sector employment causing graduates unemployment in the era of another father, John Mahama.

3. Welfare
President Akufo-Addo cherishing the welfare of the Ghanaian Youth restored Allowances for Teachers and Nursing Trainees that were cancelled in the era of another father, John Mahama.

Agenda 111 Hospital Project is geared towards contributing to the welfare of the children’s children of Ghana.

1 Constituency 1 Ambulance project is geared towards contributing to the Healthcare Delivery of the Children’s children of Ghana.

Conserving the environment for the next generation, President Akufo-Addo has so far planted close to 34 million trees across the Country under the Green Ghana Project.
